The hybrid supercar Jaguar C-X75 will be fitted with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine delivering an impressive 500 horsepower. The eco-friendly car never runs on gas alone. The supercar will offer two driving modes: all-electric and hybrid. The lithium-ion battery pack sends power to a pair of electric motors that allow the vehicle to run in full EV mode at speeds of up to 40 mph. The powertrain will be coupled with a seven-speed single clutch transmission.
The upcoming vehicle will achieve this output through twin-charging, or both a supercharger and turbocharger. The C-X75 will reach a maximum speed of 200 miles per hour. The low-emissions Jaguar sprints from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds.
Jaguar is developing the C-X75 with Williams F1 team, and planes to produce only 200units.
The Jaguar C-X75 Concept car debuted at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. Two years later, the automaker announced the production version of the model. It will be sport-based. Jaguar engineers claim that this supercar will be the finest looking and most innovative Jaguar ever produced. They priced the high-tech supercar at $1.1 million – $1.4 million.
